Are you okay?

This is a bit of an unordinary post for me really. I have seen a lot of people post about their feelings lately. It's been an inspiration reading them and to feel that you can relate to others is really comforting. There are days, we cannot dismiss, where we do not feel like a smugpug. Lately, I have been on a low, for no apparent reason, I am happy with everything I have dont get me wrong, however sometimes, your feelings get the better of you and its time to just sit down, be miserable and let it be. I don't want this post to be a miserable one, but one to show that things do get better. We all have those "this is the worst day ever" days when things just don't really go to plan. And I guess, tht's how things have been for me lately and one day after another, it can be a huge pain in the bum. You become a completely different person and lose yourself in some sort of way. That's okay though.

I am extremely lucky to have a loving family, boyfriend and lots of close friends. I am sure you are too. It's things that they do which can help you to become you again. Just like this card my best friend sent me in the post. It wasn't expected, but he let me know he cared. Doing something like that proves that you are okay to not be okay. And it's the people like these that help you to see life in a different way, a positive way, for now anyway. I also admire the amount of "blogger friends" I have got to know through this experience. The blogging community seems to support one another and thats lovely.

Jake is one of my best friends. We have known each other since we were in nappies and have stayed in contact since. He is a very successful design teacher, and has just been employed in Cambridge and will be moving there very soon. Other than that, he is a great listener, never fails to make you laugh and will always be there no matter what. I love how this card resembles smugpug in some way, its so cute!

  1. Awhh what a lovely thing to do! I am on a massive downer role at the moment too and totally know how you feel. Suppose you just have to keep your chin up and carry on regardless of how sad you may feel x

  2. That is such a lovely thing to have sent you! I've been noticing more bloggers sharing their feelings too, and it's something I actually like to read once in a while - we're all human, I hope you're feeling better about everything soon xxx

  3. I adore that card, you just can't beat a bit of pug cuteness to bring back a smile! I've been reading a lot of this sort of post too lately, I find it reassuring to know I'm not alone in feeling like I have a big black cloud following me around a lot of the time.

  8. This card is ADORABLE. I love that my best friends are always there to cheer me up when I'm having a less than perfect day. These days happen to everyone, and as long as you have support you will always come out of it. I always find making lists or being proactive helps, even cleaning (dare I say it!) just something to take your mind off things and focus your attention on doing not moping. Even if moping is a great excuse for food... xxx

  9. I know what you mean. Sometimes it's hard to be positive all the time and you just need to not be okay for a while. I find it hard when people don't understand that.

Your friend is adorable and that letter is very touching. Huge hugs to you.
