Bedroom DIY!

For those of you who saw me uncontrolably post lots of cosy pictures on instagram earlier this week, I am sorry to say that this post contains lots more! Hundreds infact. You could say that we are kinda proud of our little DIY outburst i guess. It was late Friday night, watching Tintin and we decided it was time for a change as our bedroom felt a little "prison-like". We woke up early the next morning, grabbed a sander off my dad and took a trip to The Range.

The sanding process and the painting took the longest, obviously, as this is the most boring part and gladly, the boy done it! We sanded the bed before we painted the first coat. The paint was a usual white wood paint and we added baking soda to create the chalk effect (I really do save my pennies). After it dried, we then sanded it again to give the "antique effect" and painted one more coat! By the morning, we had a whole new bed and decorated it with all our little bits and bobs we bought. Hope you like?!

  6. Wow, I always admire people that just go and do things like this. Your bed looks lovely and I quite simply adore your little bird cage next to it.
